Our Minister the Rev. Christa Eidsness

On August 15, 2024 we welcomed the Rev. Christa Eidsness to serve in a term appointment until June 30, 2025. Christa comes to Knox-Met with a background in pastoral ministry and has most recently worked at the University of Regina as the Head of the Conservatory of Performing Arts (2014-2022) and Associate Director of Housing and Hospitality (2022-2024). Christa’s pronouns are she/her and she is excited to join the work of the Knox-Met congregation and prays for God’s blessing on their work together.

Outside of ministry, Christa is the Musical Director for Sterling Studios and can often be found teaching children to sing, accompanying singers, crocheting amigurumi, and watching Doctor Who. Christa is married to Brent, they have two adult sons who live with them: Nate and Bennett.

Our Interim Music Director Mr. Lee Stubbe

On June 2, 2024 Knox-Met welcomed Lee Stubbe as Interim Music Director. In his letter of introduction to the congregation, Lee wrote:

My name is Lee Stubbe. My pronouns are he/him. I am a queer trans man born and raised here in Regina.

I’ve been playing piano for twenty-seven years. I did not have a typical classical music upbringing: I had a few years of lessons, and did a grade or two of The Royal Conservatory of Music, but I am largely self-taught. My growing-up years are full of memories of me and my little keyboard, playing through my songs in the books but also playing my favourite music by ear: country, pop, prog rock, video game music, and jazz.

In a fit of recklessness, I applied for a music degree at the U of R, and emerged with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Music History. Later, I undertook a Masters of Musicology at Western University. Now, I have been a freelance pianist for about fifteen years. Previously, I served Wesley United Church as music director, leading their choir and playing their services. I was there for seven years, before they amalgamated with Sunset United (now Harmony United Church). I teach piano, I accompany instrumental soloists and singers and choirs, I lead choir sectionals and singing workshops. And now I am very grateful to be here, serving as your interim music director.

If you have questions about the music at Knox-Met or would like to sing in the choir, please contact Lee at music@knoxmetregina.org
