Following an excellent conversation during ‘Dear White People: The Words of Black Leaders in the UCC’ (Monday, June 15), participants have expressed an interest in continuing to learn about and explore the subjects of racism, whiteness, and anti-racist work.

On Monday, June 29 at 7:00 PM (via Zoom), Dr. Carol Schick PhD — who spent her working career teaching anti-oppressive and anti-racist education — will offer a presentation followed by a time of discussion.

How does whiteness become normative? What does our society continue to tell itself in order to justify the on-going practices of its colonial past? Join us as we examine some of the ways that systemic racism is kept in place here on the prairies.

Stay tuned to Facebook and this e-newsletter for information to follow.
A Zoom Link will be added closer to the event itself.
