7pm | Thursday Evenings | Sept 10, 17, 24, Oct 1, 8

Sept. 10 – How we Speak of God – Creator, Source, Relationship

Sept. 17 – How we Speak of Joy and Pain – Fullness, Brokenness, Evil, & Sin

Sept. 24 – How We Speak of Spirit and Scripture – Song for the Journey

October 1 – How We Speak of Jesus – A Dangerous Witness to Love

October 8 – How We Speak of Church – Sacrament, Mission, & Hope

How does the United Church of Canada speak of collective Faith? How shall we speak of faith in ways that resonate in a pluralistic world? How shall we engage with a tradition in ways that open up possibilities rather than box us in? How might we be inspired by our faith to more deeply engage in the beauty and brokenness of our lives and of the world?

Over 5 weeks of conversation we will explore different themes and sections of A Song of Faith (2006). Our gatherings will take place on Zoom and depending on numbers of participants we will split into smaller groups for part of the gathering.

Participants are invited to read the whole of the Song of Faith (and Appendices) before the first session (September 10) and then to re-read it in the light of the weekly theme as you are interested.
