The Community Ministries and Communities of Faith of the United Church in Regina have collaborated on a shared Pentecost Worship Service – We Are Not Alone!
It will be broadcast via each congregations usual worship platform on Sunday, May 31 at 10:30 am (11:15am at Eastide). A bulletin for the service will be sent out from each congregation.
As part of the service we will share in the familiar sacrament of communion in a decidedly unfamiliar way. Jesus used the bread and wine that were already there on the dinner table with his friends that night. We invite you to have close at hand, whatever you have handy at home, something to eat (bread, or related – cracker, muffin, bagel) and something to drink (juice, milk, your favourite beverage).
You will join with the leaders on-line and break the bread at the same time we do and sip your juice at the same time we do. The amazing thing will be, that even though we will be separated, we will be connected to one another through those simple, common food and drinks, we will be connected by the Spirit of the Risen One in our midst.
On Sunday, we will be gathered, not at the table of any particular congregation, nor at the table of The United Church of Canada, but at the table of Christ, a table that stretches across our city and around the world. All are welcome to join us in worship, all are welcome to be at the table with us.
